วันเดี่ยวเที่ยว 4 จังหวัด กับระยะทางกว่า 500 กม. เพื่อตามหา มันควาย (ตอน ๒ ถึงแล้วบ้านลุงสั้น)หลังจากออกจากตรัง ขับรถมาตามถนนพัทลุง (แต่อยู่ที่เมืองตรัง ของแปลกเมืองตรังอีกอย่าง ฮ่าา) ผ่านย่านชุมชน ผ่านสวน สาธารณะ มุ่งหน้าไปพัทลุง ผ่านนาโยง เมื่อผมยกหูโทรหาลุงสั้น บกว่าผมอยู่นาโยง ลูกสาวคนเล็กถาม พ่อนาโยง บ้านบ่าวยาวอยู่ ไหน เขาหมายถึง ยาว นาโยง ตลกวงศรีวิชัยโชว์ ....................... ขับรถไปสักพักก่อนขึ้นเขาพับผ้ามีทางแยกขวามือ ทางไปน้ำตกสายรุ้ง ที่เคยมีน้ำหลาก เป็นเหตุให้คนตายหลายสิบคนเมื่อหลายปี ก่อน ผ่าน อบต.ช่อง ที่อยู่ด้านขวามือลงเนินไปนิดหนึ่งก็ถึงบ้านลุงสั้น ที่นั้นลุงสั้น และภรรยารอต้อนรับอยู่ ที่บ้านลุงสั้น.และภรรยายวิแวว รักทองจันทร์ นั้นเต็มไปด้วยพันธ์บ้านหลากชนิดที่ ลุงสั้นเตรียมไว้บริการให้กับลูกค้าผู้สนใจ แต่ที่ขึ้นชื่อคือ พันธ์ไม้ "ต้นมันควาย" หรือต้นผักเหขียง หรือผักเหลียง หรือยอดเหลียง หรือขาไก่ ของลำชานบ้านบู ........................ หลังจากแนะนำตัวเสร็จสรรพว่าเป็นใครมาจากไหน ทำไมบ้าระห่ำเดินทางไกลไป-กลับ กว่า ๕๐๐ กม. จึงได้เดินรูรอบ ๆ สวนที่มีพื้นที่ กว่า ๘ไร่ของลุงสั้น ที่เต็มไปด้วยพันธ์ไม้นานาพันธ์ ที่ล้วนแต่เป็นบ้านกินได้ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นไผ่ตง ทุเรียน มังคุด สะตอลางสาด กล้วย ลูกเหนียง ลองกอง มะนาว หมาก กาหลา ใบแมลงลัก ส้มต่าง.. ฯ
ระหว่างที่ภรรยาและลูก ของลุงสั้นที่ละจากการชำกิ่งมะนาว มาช่วยขนต้นผักเหลียงขึ้นรถ ลุงสั้นเล่าให้ฟัง ว่า ลุงสั้นปลูกผักเหลียง มาตั้งแต่ปี ๒๕๓๐ หรือประมาณ ๒๐ กว่าปีมาแล้ว ระยะแรกก็ปลูกแบบเก็บยอดขาย หลังจากนั้นเมื่อมีหน่วยงานราชการสนใจมาติด สั่งกิ่งพันธ์ไปแจกจ่ายตามโครงการต่าง ลุงสั้นจึงปรับเปลียนจากการขายยอดมาปลูกเพื่อจำหน่ายกิ่งพันธ์ สนนราคากิ่งละ ๒๐ บาท โดนลุงสั้นบอกว่าล่าสุดได้ปฏิเสธ หน่วยงานของรัฐระดับจังหวัดที่ติดต่อเพื่อขอซื้อกิ่งพันธ์ รวม ๆ หลายหมื่นกิ่ง จาก สี่ห้าจังหวัด ที่อยู่รายรอบจังหวัดตรัง..เหตุผลเดี่ยวครับ..ลุงสั้นว่า ทำให้ไม่ทัน...จึงไม่รับ. ............................... ครับ..ยังมีอีกหลายเรื่องราวเกี่ยวกับ "ต้นมันควาย" ที่คาดว่าจะเป็นพันธ์ไม้ที่มีอนาคตในการตลาด ด้วยสามารถปลูกให้อยู่ ในร่มเงาของสวนยางพาราได้ หากได้รับการส่งเสริม อย่างจริงจังจากภาครัฐ ที่เข้าใจงานเกษตร ว่าด้วยการสร้างมูลค่าเพิ่ม ในสวนยาง และปรัชญาเศรษกิจพอเพียง..... .................................... อ่านเรื่องราวเพิ่มเติมเรื่องพันธ์มันควายที่ชาวเราโดย คุณณชาติหนึ่ง เขียนไว้ ผักเหลียง ราชินีแห่งผักพื้นบ้าน คลิกที่นี้
